Is e-mail a second-class medium in your organization?


Originally published in December 2004 on a blog I'm abandoning. It's advice addressed to customer service and call center types.

I have some rental property managed by a company that does a great job keeping the place maintained and rented. But they have a fatal flaw, one that prevents me from ever recommending them to other property owners. They disrepect e-mail.

Three weeks ago I received a statement in the mail from the management company with no check, and of course it worried me. A few expenses were documented but no income was reported, causing me to wonder:
