What an awful day
I drove my older son to the airport this morning in snowy slushy congested Chicago traffic. Just about home, one of my tires picked up some huge bracket with a screw that decided it would be a good idea to become one with my tire. Clankity clankity. The sound reminded me of a dinosaur poem I used to read to my kids:
Clankity clankity clankity clank.
Ankylosaurus was built like a tank.
He was armored in front, he was armored behind
There wasn't a thing on his miniscule mind.
So I got the temp tire on myself. That made kind of a nice sense of self-sufficiency. Not a big deal, but I so wanted to be home. It was a home work day. Now it's going to have to spill into the weekend.
The snow is kind of depressing this time of year. Not much longer. I swear this year (as I do every year) that I'll try to savor the nicer seasons while they are here.
